My Story

One year ago today our perfect baby girl was conceived! We have such a crazy story and know this baby was meant for us! Here is our story!
We get to the RE’s office and sign in at 8:45 for our 9am appointment, all is well so far. 15 minutes later the build alarm starts going off.. this happens 3 times! At 10am we are still waiting, I’m getting worried at this point. 11am arrives and we are called to the Doctors office, not the exam room, his office! I knew something was bad. The Doctor comes in and his first words are “Everyone makes mistakes” my heart dropped. He then told us our vial we spent many months picking out had been “lost, misplaced, or damaged” but couldn’t give us answers as he really didn’t know what happened. BUT, OUR VIAL WAS LOST! We were given the choice to cancel my cycle or pick from a list of 10 donor sperm vials they had available from former clients who donated sperm they had not used. Only 3 were able to be used for IUI. We said we would look at the list and decide if it felt right. We prayed and prayed and I stressed and I wanted to cry. Finally, we picked a donor. The sperm was 7 years frozen and possibly unthawed once, I really didn’t think we had a chance but I didn’t want to miss a perfect cycle. We had the IUI 15 minutes later with only 5mil sperm (3 times less than the sperm we had bought!). The office gave us all our money back for our lost vial and the iui. It was a win win all the way around! Money in our pockets, our baby, and the BEST donor siblings a girl could ask for!
