Very cool! Also check out 23andme.com and Ancestry.com. It’s important to be on all three to increase your visibility. If you do 23andme first you can transfer your autosomal data (downloadable from 23andme) to FTDNA for half the price of a test. Takes 5 weeks or so to get results. Keep us updated!

Regarding the Profile Progression bar (% Complete). I got mine to 100% by Editing my Profile and going through each tab. As the site grows/evolves Fields may be changed or added/removed. If you show less than 100% you should comb through your Profile and see what you’re missing. If you can’t answer a field (i.e. Military Experience) just put ’N/…[Read more]

I actually have the DNA test at home to do – just need to complete and send it back. I think it’s Family Tree DNA and they currently have a sale on their testing kits. Mine was about $100. Hopefully once those results are listed I might have some luck 🙂

Map: What do the different lit colors on the map indicate?
Visitors: What are Bots?

Map: Visitors have Red/yellow location pins. Search bots will have blue location pins. Registered users who are logged in will have green location pins.

Hi Kenza,
I know several Australians through the online donor community, mostly adult donor conceived but I also have corresponded with a former egg donor and sperm donor. I really have to get myself and daughter’s DNA done. I think that is the only way to search.

Also collorating/sharing info in Groups is key to a search. You have have a piece of information combined with another person’s info that could lead to a connection.
